Vivation is a physically pleasurable meditation and breathwork process developed by Jim Leonard in 1979. It allows you to quickly and permanently resolve negative emotions, trauma, and stress. This gentle yet powerful technique works by helping you experience feelings as physical patterns of energy in the body. By directly connecting with the physical sensations of emotions, rather than the thoughts about them, you bypass negative thought patterns. This results in an honest and pleasurable experience, efficiently integrating and transforming feelings from suffering to bliss.

It’s all about autonomy. Vivation places strong emphasis on enabling emotional freedom and self-realization for its practitioners. The primary ethic is your body is your teacher. Through Vivation, you gain the ability to heal yourself from the inside out, whenever and wherever needed.

  • Yes, and so much more! While breathwork is one of Vivation's five elements, the practice encompasses much more. The other four elements provide a comprehensive approach to emotional mastery.

  • Yes, unlike most meditation practices requiring a quiet, undisturbed setting, Vivation can be done anywhere - while working, playing, or even in public. However, it can also be practiced in a quiet space to go deeper within. Vivation is a physically pleasurable, somatic (feelings-based) form of mindfulness. It transforms difficult experiences into positive ones, and positive experiences into great ones. Since Vivation feels so gratifying, most people naturally start practicing it whenever they want to improve their situation.

  • Yes! You will learn breathing techniques to modulate the intensity of feelings, allowing you to remain safely and manageably present with them, which leads to resolution and integration. Additionally, I have received ongoing training in Trauma-Informed Care. Autonomy is a central tenet of my practice.

  • While Vivation is a skill you learn to practice on your own, it is extremely therapeutic and can rapidly accelerate any emotional work undertaken with a qualified therapist. Though not therapy itself, Vivation complements therapeutic processes remarkably well.

  • With around 20 hours of instruction and coaching. Most people can start practicing Vivation proficiently after just a few lessons. Each lesson builds upon the previous one, resulting in complete autonomy with the skill after a short series of instructional and coaching sessions.

  • Since 1979, over 100,000 students worldwide have experienced Vivation as a safe and effective practice. While profoundly impactful, its power lies in its gentleness.   • These introductory sessions are a perfect place to start so you can get a taste of Vivation. Though this practice is most powerful when you can apply it autonomously to your daily life, you can still receive deep integration and healing from a drop-in group session.

    The small group setting offers a uniquely supportive community experience. The healing container is co-created by each participant and gets stronger with our collective intentions.
